Adding custom liveries is one of the most unique features of Gran Turismo 7. In this guide, we’ll show you how to add them step by step!
How to Add Custom Liveries:
Step 1: Go to the Customize Cars section in GT Auto
First, you need to go to GT Auto on the World Map. Go to the Customize Car section and you’ll see the option for the Livery Editor. It is located at the bottom right of the screen. This will take you right to the livery editor where you can start customizing your own livery.
Step 2: Pick Your Desired Base Color for the car
Now, the first step in creating a custom livery is to add your base color. You have a color palette to choose from that features different types of the colors like metallic, pearlescent or glossy.
Step 3: Pick your Desired Decal
Then comes the fun part. You can choose from a variety of decals and logos that are already present in the game. Options range from various signs, and numbers to company logos as well. Pick a bunch of them and go crazy with your design.
Additionally, you’ll also have the option to add created decals and logos from other users as well. You’ll need to add them to your collection via Content Search in Showcase from the world map to make them appear in the livery editor.
Step 4 (optional): Upload your Desired Decals
You’ll also be able to upload your preferred logos as well. First, you need to find a high-resolution image of your desired decal and turn it into a.SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) file. JPG or PNG files won’t work so it’s better not to try them. The size of the.SVG file must not be more than 15kb. Then you need to log in to the Gran Turismo website to do this. When you log in with your PSN Account, go to your ‘My Page’ section. There you’ll see ‘Decal Uploader’ in the top-right. Click on that and you’ll be taken to a page where you can upload your created decals.
Step 5: Position your Decals
After picking out your decals you need to position them properly. You can make align them or make them bigger or smaller with the help of the in-game controls. After adjusting them you’ll now have a proper-looking Livery for your car.
Step 6: Save and Apply your Livery
After making the Livery, you can click on Save and it will upload to the server. You will also have to apply it again to the specific car you made the livery for as well. Don’t forget to name the livery you created too. It might take a bit of time since everything is high resolution but after about 30 seconds your livery will be good to go!
Step 7 (Optional): Make your Livery Discoverable to Other Players
You’ll also have the option to make your livery discoverable to other players if you want to share it with the Gran Turismo community. Click on Showcase in the World Map and go to My Collection. There you’ll find all your created and saved items including liveries. Click on the Share option to share it with the community. You can give it your desired name as well.
